Pike perch and baked bell peppers – turn the tasty meat of the pike perch into a feast of the taste

The baked bell peppers, the children of the finest and most noble Romanian salad, have the generosity to allow themselves to be eaten in any season and with any dish. Baked in the oven, on fire or on the grill, the softened but still flashy bell peppers are mixed in a sauce, together with the fresh pike perch caught from the sweet water of the river. A very tasty fish, the pike perch too is called different names by the local fishermen on the banks of the Danube River, depending on its size: from the adolescent “strazapan”, to the grown “salaias” and the senior “salau”. A very good looking dish, but also easy to prepare, this pike perch recipe goes well with a glass of cold white wine.

Ingredients:

400 gr pike perch, 2 eggs, flour, oil, 4-5 baked bell peppers, 2-3 spoonfuls of flour, 2 spoonfuls of butter, 300 gr sour cream, salt and pepper.

Cooking method:

Bake the bell peppers, peel and slice them. Melt the butter in a small pot, add the flour gradually and mix with the sour cream stirring quickly to prevent the formation of clots. Add the baked bell peppers, spice with salt and pepper and leave on the fire for a few more minutes.

Slice the pike perch, pass it through the egg, flour and fry it in the pan. Next, place it on a paper napkin to allow it absorb the oil. Serve hot, with the sauce aside. Enjoy!
